AI booking assistant

SMS Program

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Status: not yet active. Text message booking is not currently available. The booking number below does not yet accept text messages, and no messages are sent from it. The program terms on this page describe how the service will operate once carrier approval is complete. Today, bookings are handled by our phone line and web chat.

How it will work

BookByText answers a business's own phone number. Customers find that number on the business's website, storefront signage, or business card and text it to book, reschedule, cancel, or ask about appointments — our AI assistant replies right away and confirms against the business's real calendar.

Some businesses also run our AI assistant as a chat window on their own website. It books the same appointments against the same calendar; because a chat window gives the business no way to reach you afterwards, the assistant asks there for a mobile number and for permission to text you about the appointment. Both questions are optional and you can book without answering either.

Our published booking number is (925) 489-1150.

Consent disclosure

By texting this number, by booking over the phone with a business's booking assistant, or by giving your number to a business's web chat assistant and agreeing when it asks whether it may text you, you consent to receive appointment-related messages from BookByText on behalf of the business (booking confirmations, scheduling replies, appointment reminders, and cancellation/reschedule notices). Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Program details

  • Program: BookByText appointment messaging.
  • You opt in one of three ways. You send the first text message to our published booking number, (925) 489-1150 — sending that message is your consent. Or, when you book through a business's web chat assistant, you give your mobile number and answer yes when the assistant asks whether it may text you about your appointment. Or you call a business whose phone line is answered by our booking assistant and book an appointment on that call: we text your confirmation and any reminder to the number you called from, and the assistant tells you so before the call ends. Every way you are consenting to the same thing: SMS messages related to your appointment — booking confirmations, appointment reminders, cancellation and reschedule notices, and replies to your questions. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you can book without giving a number at all.
  • We never message anyone who has not asked us to. We do not buy, rent, or accept phone numbers from purchased lists, third parties, or affiliates, and we do not accept consent gathered on our behalf by anyone else. A number you give in web chat is used only for the appointment you gave it for, and only if you agreed to be texted — if you give a number without agreeing, the business may call you about the appointment and we send you no messages.
  • Message frequency varies depending on your conversation and upcoming appointments.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing.
